No One Seems to Realize How Big a Shortfall the New Indo Regulations Will Cause
I need to confirm these figures, but as I recall, the USA consumes an estimated 4300 tons of Kratom from Indonesia (mostly) each month. That’s roughly 159 containers each month.
The problem is, under the new regulations, only 44 (plus 20 more due to a new gamma faculty in Jakarta, for a total of 64 containers per month) containers can be irradiated or otherwise sterilized, so there will be a substantial shortfall of product on the US market, because EVERYTHING must pass lab tests for biological contamination before it can be exported.
The shortfall of sterilization capacity is bound to cause a bottleneck that, in turn, will result in a shortfall in legal Kratom exports reaching the U.S. market. This is unlikely to be remedied soon because building new gamma radiation capacity is expensive.
So the vendors who haven’t already locked in contracts to supply their operations are likely to be without stock — while the Big Players who may have seen this catastrophe coming are prepared to reap windfall profits.
Will your company be well-stocked, with sufficient product to help serve your customers and those of other vendors who didn’t see this coming?
NOW is a good time for vendors to secure the contracts to carry their company through the anticipated shortfall that’s likely to take most of 2025 to get sorted out.
